Program for Supportive Actions
This project includes several actions which will allow us to carry out the Priority Assessment project.
A few actions combine together in this program:
- opening/re-opening of access ways to the BomFuturo Preserve
- restoring of an air strip for small planes
- refurbishing of old facilities (refugios).
Access ways
Old tracks and trails can be re-activated to access the BomFuturo Preserve, in order then to make it possible for scientists and researchers to reach the area for on-field monitoring actions.
Other access opportunities could be provided by the intricate rivers and waterways network which is typical in the Pantanal.
Landing field restoration
A small air strip can also provide access to the BomFuturo area, in sight of the scientists’ excursions within the frame of a Priority Assessment and further Conservation Programs.
The restoration of the old airfield may be financially supported by a local company.
Old facilities (refugios)
We are also focusing our efforts on the refurbishing of some existing structures like an old, two-room building that could provide temporary accommodation for scientists and researchers during their stay in the area.
